1

Create an account

Sign up for a free Skooh account. No credit card required.

2

Create a webhook endpoint

Navigate to Hooks and create your first webhook endpoint. You'll receive a unique URL like:

https://api.skooh.io/hook/abc123xyz
3

Configure your third-party service

Copy your webhook URL from Step 2 and paste it into your service's webhook settings. Each service has different steps—check their documentation for details.

💡 Tip: Where to find webhook settings

  • Stripe: Dashboard → Developers → Webhooks
  • GitHub: Repository Settings → Webhooks
  • Shopify: Settings → Notifications → Webhooks
  • Other services: Check their documentation for webhook configuration
4

Download the desktop app

Install the Skooh desktop app to forward webhooks to your local machine. It runs in your system tray and connects securely to Skooh.

⚠️ Security Warnings

Your OS may show security warnings—this is normal for newer apps. Skooh is open source and safe to use.

Why you might see warnings: Skooh is a relatively new application, and some security software flags apps that make network connections. We're implementing code signing to improve reputation.See installation instructions →

5

Configure the proxy

Open the desktop app and enter your credentials. You'll need your Hook Token and API Key:

This is the URL where Skooh will send webhooks. If you're running the desktop client, as long as your computer can access this URL, Skooh will be able to forward webhooks to it.

http://localhost:3000/api/webhook

💡 Tip: Finding your webhook endpoint

You need to know where your application expects to receive webhooks. Here are some common examples:

Development frameworks:

  • http://localhost:3000/api/webhooks/stripe - Next.js app with Stripe
  • http://localhost:8000/webhooks/ - Django/FastAPI app
  • http://localhost:4000/webhook - Express/Node.js app
  • http://localhost:5000/api/webhook - Flask app

Enterprise software:

  • https://your-company.com/api/webhooks/salesforce - Salesforce
  • https://sap-server.company.com:8000/sap/webhook - SAP
  • https://confluence.company.com/rest/webhooks/1.0/webhook - Confluence Data Center

Tip: Log-only mode

Want to see webhooks coming in without forwarding them? Enable "Log only mode" in the Advanced tab. This is great for debugging or monitoring what's being sent to your endpoint.

Tip: Sound notifications

Enable "Play sound on new webhook" in the Advanced tab to hear when webhooks arrive - it's an easy way to know your setup is working!

6

Start receiving webhooks!

Click Connect in the desktop app. Webhooks sent to your Skooh URL will now be forwarded to your local server in real-time.

You're all set! Webhooks from your provider will now be forwarded to your local development server in real-time. On your webhook endpoint's detail page, you can view the full request body and headers, replay any webhook with one click, generate new test webhooks, and browse the complete message history.
