How to Debug Webhooks Locally
Tips and tricks for debugging webhook payloads, handling edge cases, and troubleshooting integration issues.
Introduction
Debugging webhooks can be frustrating. Here's how to make it easier with Skooh.
The Log-Only Mode
Leave the Forwarding URL empty to capture webhooks without forwarding. Every webhook is logged with full headers and body.
Enable Sound Notifications
Go to Advanced settings and enable Sound. You'll hear an alert when webhooks arrive—no need to watch the screen.
Use Request History
Skooh stores webhooks for 30 days. Click Replay to resend any webhook for testing.
The Debug Workflow
- Start in log-only mode
- Enable sound notifications
- Inspect the payload
- Write your handler
- Enable forwarding and test
- Use replay for edge cases
